Welcome to Hope’s Room
Hope’s Room Ltd provides peer support for families suffering stress, depression or anxiety in the perinatal period. Our trained peer support workers run peer support groups that allow parents to share their stories of perinatal mental illness in a safe and respectful environment.
In addition to providing support to parents, Hope’s Room Ltd delivers antenatal education to expecting parents regarding perinatal mental illness and the emotional adjustment to parenthood. By participating in the industry sector, Hope’s Room Ltd provides the consumer perspective to service providers in order to improve services and how services are delivered. Part of Hope’s Room work in the field includes developing prevention and early intervention strategies to reduce the impact perinatal mental illness has on families.

Hope’s Room Official Launch
We celebrated our 1st anniversary with an evening in the Gambaro Room on the 13th floor of Common Ground Queensland on Hope Street. There were sixty people in attendance including Uncle Des Sandy who gave the welcome to country and Leanne Linard, the MP for Nudgee who kindly represented the Hon Cameron Dick, Minister for Health. Please go here for a few more details about the evening, a few thanks to our friends at Common Ground, Queensland and Espresso Train Catering as well as a photo gallery. Thank you ALL for your support and encouragement.
We have been busily making handmade support ribbons that represent Hope’s Room. By wearing one of these ribbons, you are advocating support for parents suffering perinatal mental illness, raising awareness of our work and reducing the stigma of mental illness.
Your $5 investment will go towards peer support groups and education. for more details and how to purchase one, go here.
